The calendar leans toward Thanksgiving.

You’ve changed your clocks back and packed away the costumes. Hopefully you’ve done your civic duty and may even be looking forward to remembering those who have served our country to keep us free to do that duty on the 11th.  In the span of just a few weeks, there are many activities that remind us it is the season to be grateful, so we’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking time to read and forward our newsletters.

Our gratefulness goes much deeper than a business relationship.

Our name is “family”, and that means something to us.  We welcome each of our clients and appreciate your willingness to allow our team to part of your wellcare journey.  It’s truly an honor and reminds us that we are a family.

Many years ago, November became our gratitude month; a time to express the gratitude we feel every day of the month.

This year, we asked the team to share their gratitudes with us, and while some were typical, others were profound, and almost all are directed at the relationships, camaraderie and exchanges with you, our clients, as well as each other.

What a lovely, heartfelt reminder that no business can thrive without building meaningful relationships.

Here’s a sampling of what the team said they are thankful for:

  • “Clients who give us energy.  I appreciate the upbeat greetings, compliments, and little tidbits of advice.  They are all brief encounters that you might not realize make my day wonderful.”
  • “Grateful for each cheery smile; thank you!”
  • “So very appreciative of your patience as I figure out the software.  Your kindness is noted.”

Beyond the walls of Inner Spa and Agasar Family WellCare, the gratitude list includes:

  • People who rescue pets and those who volunteer or work at shelters.
  • The men and women who have answered the call to join the armed forces, as well as those who sent gifts, letters and show their support for our troops.
  • The volunteers who manage food banks and the folks who donate food, funds and time to keep our neighbors fed.
  • People who upcycle, recycle and donate to keep landfills from overflowing.
  • Emergency services personnel and all they do to keep people safe and well.
  • Teachers, aids and other support staff in the education system.

Did you notice that most of this list is about people rather than things.  So many people.  So as you prepare for your Thanksgiving celebrations, take a moment to think about the people around the table (and beyond) and give thanks.

Savor the relationships.  Continue to make meaningful connections.  Build something that teaches the next generation to look at the world in positive and grateful ways and share that with your little slice of the world.

Whether journaling, expressing thanks or reflecting on positive experiences, practicing gratitude plays a powerful role in strengthening relationships that are the cornerstone of overall wellness. An “attitude of gratitude” nurtures your well-being and that of those you encounter.

We are so grateful for the connections we have with each of you, and look forward to continuing to deepen our relationship as we improve overall wellness together.

May your gratitude month be an awesome place to begin new habits for better health in the weeks to come.  Happy Thanksgiving!
