Part 2 of our 4-part H.O.P.E. series covering gut health.

Here we are at number 2 of our ‘H.O.P.E.’  series to discuss the ‘O’ — Omega-3s and what foods contain the highest levels, including our recipe for Air-Fryer Avocado Fries here. Catch up on the previous article here.

Omega-3: This is not Your Grandmother’s Cod Liver Oil

Ensuring an adequate intake of Omega-3 fatty acids is essential for maintaining optimal health. Omega-3s are linked to cardiovascular and brain health as well as improved joint health, reduced inflammation throughout the body and even mood regulation.

By incorporating a variety of Omega-3-rich foods can help meet your body’s needs and support overall well-being.

Where is this Omega-3 found? Mostly in fatty fish like salmon and sardines. You’ll also find Omega-3s in flaxseeds, chia seeds, walnuts and hemp seeds.

These fatty acids are integral to brain function and cell development, especially in infants and young children to aid in cognitive function, memory retention and overall mental health.

Prioritize your Omega-3 consumption as a proactive step toward enhancing your long-term health outcomes and a higher quality of life.

You’ll find our Vital Pro Natural Advanced Omega on the shelves at Inner Spa and in the homes of all of our employees.

Here are a few reasons we trust and use Vital Pro Naturals Advanced Omega:

  • Just 2 capsules per day offer 2350 mg Omega-3 (National Institutes of Health suggests consuming a minimum of 1100-1600 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids a day**)
  • Natural triglyceride form
  • Contains NO GMOs, yeast, wheat, dairy, tree nuts, salt, shellfish, sugar, bovine, binders, fillers or artificial ingredients.
  • The enteric coating ensures absorption after passing through stomach acids
  • Contains Lipase for digestion
  • No-burp formula
  • Wild-caught Norwegian fish. Fish oil is processed in Norway and manufactured in USA

It’s one thing you can easily do each and every day to be sure to consume the proper quantity and quality Omega-3. Rarely does the average person consume even the suggested minimum of Omega-3 in food alone.

Vital Pro Naturals Omega recommends 2 capsules per day for 2350 mg of high quality Omega-3 fatty acid.

Three things to do this week:

1. Add a tablespoon of ground Flax Seed or half of an avocado to two of your meals. Top a salad or use in a sandwich or smoothie. Check out our recipe for Air-Fryer Avocado “Fries” here.

2. Weigh your portions—fresh veggies (1 cup minimum per person), pasta (2 oz dry per person), chicken breasts (3.5 oz precooked per person) etc. You’ll be surprised how much you’ve been under- or over-estimating.

3. Spend 6 minutes each day this week doing deep breathing exercises. Search for suggestions like this to get started.
